FFL transfers
Bought a firearm online?
Have it sent to us
Federal law requires a firearm bought from out of state, or from a dealer who is not handing it to you in person, to be shipped to a licensed dealer near you. National Safety Center holds that licence. We receive it, complete the paperwork with you, and hand it over.
- Transfer fee
- $30
- Per firearm. Pay online or at the counter.
- Pickup window
- 7 days
- From our arrival email, plus the waiting period.
- After that
- $30/mo
- Storage, per month or part of one.
How it works
- 1
Name us as your dealer
When the marketplace or the seller asks for a receiving FFL, choose National Safety Center, Maitland, FL. Give them our address below. They will get a copy of our licence from us or through the marketplace; you do not need to send anything.
- 2
Tell us it is coming
Ring or email us with the seller’s name and your order number. We book it in, email you the fee and the terms, and you can pay then or when you come in.
- 3
We email you when it lands
The day it arrives we enter it in our federal records and email you. Come in with a current government photo ID that shows your address.
- 4
Paperwork, then home
You complete ATF Form 4473 with us and we submit the Florida background check while you wait. Florida applies a 3-business-day waiting period to most handguns, so unless you hold a Florida concealed weapon licence you collect on a second visit.
Ship-to address for the seller
National Safety Center
111 S. Maitland Ave
Maitland, FL 32751
Ask the seller to put your name and their order number on the paperwork. A package we cannot match to a customer is refused.
What to bring
- A current government-issued photo ID showing your present address.
- If the address on it is out of date, a second government document showing where you live now.
- Your Florida concealed weapon licence, if you hold one, which skips the waiting period.
The terms, in short
The fee is earned once the firearm arrives. You insure your own firearm in transit and while we hold it, and we are not liable for its loss or damage. Come in within the pickup window or storage applies. If the check is denied, the firearm goes back to the seller at your cost. You accept the full terms when you pay.
