Card details
Payments are handled by Authorize.Net. Your card number never lands on our servers and is never stored by National Safety Center.
Cookies
We only use cookies to enhance your experience on our website.
Selling your data
We do not sell, trade or otherwise transfer your personally identifiable information to outside parties.

Booking and payment

When you book a class we collect the details we need to deliver it: your name, email address, phone number and your level of experience with firearms. We use them to confirm your place, to prepare the right instruction for you, and to reach you if anything about the class changes.

Payment card details are collected and processed by Authorize.Net, our payment processor. National Safety Center does not store your card number, expiry date or security code at any point.

We collect information from you when you register on our site, book a class, subscribe to our newsletter, respond to a survey or fill out a form.

When ordering or registering on our site, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter your name, email address, mailing address or phone number. You may also visit our site anonymously.

How we use your information

Any of the information we collect from you may be used in the following ways.

To personalize your experience
Your information helps us respond to your individual needs.
To improve our website
We continually improve what we offer based on the information and feedback we receive from you.

The email address you provide for order processing may be used to send you information and updates about your order, as well as occasional company news, updates and related service information.

If at any time you would like to stop receiving future emails, every email we send carries unsubscribe instructions at the bottom.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string, to help with spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. After your comment is approved, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

We only use cookies to enhance your experience on our website.

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience, so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we set a temporary cookie to determine whether your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we also set several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days and screen option cookies last for a year. If you select Remember Me, your login persists for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies are removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie is saved in your browser. It includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after one day.

Embedded content

Articles on this site may include embedded content from other websites, such as videos, images and articles. Embedded content behaves in exactly the same way as if the visitor had visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with it if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

How we protect your information

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you enter, submit or access it.

Who we share your data with

We do not sell, trade or otherwise transfer your personally identifiable information to outside parties. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business or serving you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release your information where we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect the rights, property or safety of ourselves or others. Non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising or other uses.

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users who register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit or delete their personal information at any time, except that they cannot change their username. Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Your rights over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal or security purposes.

To make either request, contact us using the details at the end of this page.

Children’s privacy

We are in compliance with the requirements of COPPA, the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act. We do not collect any information from anyone under 13 years of age. Our website, products and services are all directed to people who are at least 13 years old.

Changes to this policy

If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on this page.
